Cotton Bath Towels a necessity for homes and hotels


Most common household item since decades, where people are likely to have not just one but many such radicals in their possession is bath towels. They are most often used for drying the body and hair after washing, especially after using bathtubs or quick showers. These towels are commonly used in hotels, spas and salons as well, people have them, many in many colours.

Given their common nature, it might be surprising to learn that the average terrycloth towel made of looped or piled cotton or cotton/polyester blends is a fairly new invention. Terrycloth didn’t become the main material for towels until the 1890s; prior to that most towels were made of linen. People didn’t bathe as much either, so towel use was certainly not as high.

Bath towels may be of different sizes in different countries around the world, most common sizes are 70x140cm for bath towels and 100x150cm for Bath Sheets, which are Super Size / Jumbo Size. These are usually both longer and wider, which may be more comfortable for adults of more than average size. Again different countries have got different sizes requirements.

Bath Towels are manufactured using different kind of yarn. Yarns such as; Ring Spun Cotton Yarn – These towels give you a softer feel and longer life. They are ideal for hotels wishing for a soft, but hard wearing towels of which they can be proud of.

Combed cotton yarn is ideal for luxury hotels and spas wishing to pamper their guests. Egyptian cotton yarn – these towels are a little heavier than most on the market etc. There are different types of bath towels such as microfiber bath towels, cotton bath towels personalised bath towels, baby bath towels etc.

Just like friends come in many colours, towels come in many colours and qualities, to see some options of bath towels in any border, colour, or size you can go to  Normally towels are rectangular in shape and are available in different borders, colours and sizes, border can be Dobby or Jacquard, depending on the requirement, these are usually both longer and wider, which may be more comfortable for adults of more than average size.
