How To Select Fabric Colours?

Colours can make or break your style. Poor selection of fabric colours is the mistake that can cost you heavily. The good thing is that you can avoid colour faux pas by taking certain things into account.

Type of Fabric

Colours and fabrics share a passionate relationship. Some fabrics are good enough to be dyed in any Fabric Colours of your choice. Others cannot tolerate more than a select few hues. Cotton, for example, is considered the fabric of choice among dyers around the world. You can give it any colour of your choice whether it is black, blue, green or orange. You can also dye it in multiple colours or introduce innovative designs with computerized printing. Silk and polyester fabrics are available in relatively fewer Fabric Colours.

Type of Event

It becomes necessary to be cognizant of the occasion for which you want to wear a fabric. Darker colours, especially of black and blue shades, are suitable for formal events whereas lighter colours and brighter shades are good for casual occasions.

Weather

You should also take into consideration the weather while selecting shades of fabrics. Darker Fabric Colours are not suitable for summer. Apart from contrast problems, they absorb more heat thus causing greater perspiration and itching. The same is the case for lighter shades that do not go well in the chilling weather.

Embellishments

Will you use the fabric in its original shade or want to add embroidery or embellishments? You will need to be careful with the colour if you want to use embellishments. Embroidery, bead work and other embellishments do not look good on all colours. You need shades that enhance the embellishment instead of concealing it.

There should not be a problem in selecting the best fabric colours as long as you are keeping the above mentioned factors in mind.
