Why Fabric inspections are Necessary? Why Fabric inspections are important for Quality Control:

Fabric inspections are a routine around the world. Buyers do not trust producers that fail to produce a quality-check certification. Manufacturers have a quality control department of their own that checks the fabrics for a number of things. They examine the weaving patterns, measurements, size, texture, flow and washing instructions of a fabric and then assign it to a particular category. Independent quality control examinations are a preferred option for buyers as many do not want to trust the in-house quality reports.

Fabric inspections and categorization helps in buying the best materials. Large-scale buyers have to buy fabrics in bulk and the deals often run in millions of dollars. This necessitates the certification of a third-party before finalizing the deal. A manufacturer may otherwise fool the buyers especially if it has just recently entered the business or does not enjoy a good market reputation.

An in-house or a third-party quality control department will look for several factors in a fabric. Thread count, for example, plays a key role in determining the quality of cotton. A higher thread count means a better quality cotton and vice versa. In silk, the texture plays a key role in determining the quality. The same goes for polyester where the fabric texture and flow should be smooth. Synthetic fibres come in many types of construction and this may confuse an ordinary buyer. You will need to find the properties of each constituent material to check for quality.

While placing new orders for fabrics, it is a good idea to rely on third-party evaluations and certifications. They will give you a fair idea of the type and texture of a particular fabric along with its design features and construction qualities. You can then place an order of the desired fabric without any fears of quality issues if you know that production mill has fabric inspections system in place.
