Nothing can beat the style and beauty of a formal suit. In men’s clothing, formal suits are ranked at the top of the pyramid. Formal wear comprises of a collared dress shirt, dress pants, a jacket and a neck-tie. More formal wear for men includes a waist coast that turns it into a three-piece suit. This type of clothing was the gold standard in formal wear until a few decades ago. Two-piece suits were common but were looked down upon in high society. This is no longer the case as three-piece suits have lost their prestige.
You will be hard pressed to find anyone in a formal business meeting wearing a three-piece suit complete with a bow tie and other accessories. The two-piece variant has got a name of its own. People now call it the formal business suit. For this type of formal wear, you need a careful selection of shirts, ties and accessories. Cuff links are a common feature of collared dress shirts. A poor choice in this regard can spoil your image. A very brightly coloured tie on a formal dress shirt, which is always of lighter shades, does not look good. Poorly designed jackets can upend whatever style inspirations you had in mind.
You also need to be careful with the footwear. Black dress shoes are ideal for formal settings. They add a new dimension of style while enhancing the elegance of your outfit. Take a hat if you like or keep your hair open as long as they are nicely combed and gelled.
Formal wear may not offer the greatest and design features but it is the underestimated style that distinguishes it from other types of clothing. It has carved a niche of its own and has held back against the advances of modern casual wear that is increasingly becoming common in business environments.
